Taking  care of your eyes doesn’t have to be stressful or complex. In fact, it is surprisingly easy! In our last blog, we discussed the importance of a good diet, no smoking, and getting exercise when it comes to eyesight. All these things will help your eyes – and the rest of your body! Today, we have a few more things for you to consider as you look at your daily life.

Wear Good Shades

If you’re outside during the day, your eyes will always benefit from sunglasses. The key is to get sunglasses with 100% ultraviolet ray protection. The sunglasses make your pupils dilate, and you don’t want to pour harmful UV rays into them. Keeping your sunglasses game strong will protect you from cataracts and other eye issues.

Check Your Family’s History

Many eye issues are genetic, so staying aware of your family’s eye health is helpful. It’s also helpful to know if your family suffers from high blood pressure or diabetes, because these conditions can affect your eyes. Tell your eye doctor about your family’s health history, and he or she will be able to use that information to give you great guidance.

Get an Eye Appointment Every Two Years

Every two years, make sure you have a comprehensive eye exam. Issues will be caught early, and you will have peace of mind.
